This will be a brief post although it may be added to in time.
Labour party suspensions continue.
Jae Robinson is a friend of mine on social media.
She is feisty, fun and at times hilarious.
The title above may be misleading. She is a Jeremy Corbyn supporter; the title of this report is a mixture of sarcasm, satire and irony.
She has been suspended from the party this week three days after that image of her with Owen Smith appeared in the Guardian.
Jae was used as something of a poster girl for the Owen Smith election campaign when she was shown in a piece in the Guardian.
Her image above is now going viral but for very different reasons. It now includes part of her notification letter of suspension from the Labour party.
“No abuse of any kind by members or supporters shall be tolerated. All eligible members and supporters must conduct themselves in a calm and polite manner and be respectful to each other at all times. Any racist, abusive or foul language or behavior at meetings, on social media or in any other context will be dealt with according to the rules and procedures of the Labour Party.”
And for me that is a huge problem.
Below are just a few examples of tweets and the like that Corbyn supporters experience and if foul language is no longer allowed perhaps the party should look closer to home, to its MPs in some cases.
We wish good luck to Jae and will be following and updating this story.
