Want to know what the media hatchet job coming up tomorrow, Monday, so late in the Labour leadership voting is about?
Think about it - it's about justifying the party suspensions.
The suspensions stream has turned into a deluge .... people in the party for 43 years, for the most inoffensive posts ....I'm waiting for ANYONE on this page to defend the democratic workings of those who control the administration of the Labour Party at this point ......take a look at what just a few say.... And these are the people, on Facebook pages and forums too, taking the high ground about democracy..... about the party!
'I have also been suspended from the Labour Party. Apparently I breached some of their rules on recruitment. I am a grandma, virtually bed bound with spinal bone cancer. Was it something I said?'
"I have been expelled from the Labour Party. I am so upset. I have been Labour from the day I was able to think about the world. I have voted Labour in every election. I can only assume this is a continuation of the attack on democracy and because I am a known left-winger and a delegate to conference.'
'A member in my branch who regularly volunteers in the Labour office suspended today for tweets. I want equal treatment for her as given to MPs'
'My daughter Rachel has just been expelled from the Labour Party. She can't apply to rejoin for five years. She is a full member of the Labour Party. She has never been a member of any other party. She retweeted two tweets from the Green Party:
*one saying the Greens supported the striking teachers in the recent NUT strike. Rachel was on strike.
*the other was the funny video with the kids acting as Tory ministers.
This purge is beyond ridiculous.'
Thanks to Jacqueline Walker for sharing her thoughts - please feel free to comment but remember someone somewhere may be watching and it could cost you your vote! Whatever happened to free speech and democracy?
