Op-ed: Another day, another story in the saga to demonise Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and remove him from office.
Sunday wealthy party donor Michael Foster has posted a damning piece in the Mail.
It actually damns Foster and must surely result in his expulsion from the Labour Party?
It is titled "Why I despise Jeremy Corbyn and his Nazi stormtroopers', by Jewish Labour donor MICHAEL FOSTER."
The Mail mentions his Jewish faith.
As an ordinary Labour Party member I of course have to be careful what words I use.
Mention any sort of Jewish connection and you run the risk of accusations of being anti-Semetic.
Also off-limit are words such as Red Tory and Blairite.
However it appears words like Trotskyite, Trots, rabble and dogs is fine when used in reference to Corbyn supporters.
If you want an idea of the tone of the Michael Foster article, and the title has not convinced you already, check out the first paragraph "Saturday of last week in my home town of Camborne, the Corbyn Circus rolled into town. A crowd of 2,000 disciples came from all over Cornwall to cheer and clap and worship. One after another, Momentum speakers praised ‘Jeremy’ and spoke of the hope he gave them, the socialism he would bring to Britain."
Personally I find that offensive.
"The Corbyn Circus"; "Disciples"; "Nazi Stormtroopers."
Carefully chosen words full of hate.
Words chosen to deride, ridicule and more.
And the Mail has opted to include at least one image of a Hitler Nazi rally.
Foster continues "A brand of politics alien to this country, defined and delivered by a divisive, aggressive holier-than-thou cadre of hard-Left socialists with no real policies to speak of, no defined social and economic objectives, just a call for the committed to take this journey with them down the Yellow Brick."
Foster is obviously a bitter man.
He appears to have believed he "bought" the party when he made a huge cash donation.
He recently challenged the party in the courts; an attempt to deny the incumbent party leader an automatic right to be on the ballot.
He lost and faced court costs.
At that time Labour Deputy Party leader Tom Watson said the legal challenge was not helpful.
So Tom Watson how will you respond to Foster's gutter press attack on many party members and supporters?
Sadly too many ordinary voters still read the Mail. It is one reason people such as a couple of family members dislike Corbyn. In that respect his words will hit home, cause greater division in the party and more.
Is the Mail a sort of up market Sun?
The Mail is well known for its attacks on Corbyn often by their veteran "journalist" Dan Hodges.
Hodges was the author of the piece that said it was time for Labour to kill vampire Jezza. That was posted in spite of the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox though after a series of complaints the word kill was amended to drop.
Getting eyeballs on pages is vital for the mainstream media with staff to pay and a business to run.
Sensational stories tend to make the most money.
However they are still worthless trash.
The next story I expect to read is that Michael Foster has been expelled from the Labour Party. If not, why not?
